Nutrients vital to the brain for survival-such as oxygen glucose-are transported from the body towards the brain by the fluid inside your spinal canal, called the cerebrospinal (spine-brain) fluid or CSF. This fluid gets from the spine to the brain together with the use of a CSF pump. This CSF pump does not use electricity. The power for the pump is generated by motion of the sacrum (lowest portion of the spine) and the cervical spine (upper portion of the spine).
