Welcome to day 25 of Reconnect – a 30 day yoga challenge to help you reconnect to your body, your breath, your heart, and to the things that are most meaningful in your life. Yoga isn’t about shaming and rejecting parts of yourself and embracing other parts. It’s about developing clarity and courage to acknowledge, accept and love your whole Self. Today we’ll work on loving our whole self and aligning with what makes us healthy and happy.

Consider one aspect of yourself that you’ve had trouble accepting. Is it possible to stand against actions that cause suffering, but still love the human who’s acting out? Is it possible that acknowledging, accepting, and showing more love and compassion to these shadow parts of yourself can help you better align with what truly supports your health and happiness?

Deep questions today, but so worth the effort!

With the change in seasons toward warmer weather, some people are anxious to get outdoors to work up garden soil, arrange patterns of planted bulbs, and begin to mow their grass to keep it manageable. In order to enjoy gardening without back pain, it is important take some time to stretch select muscles that may get overworked or strained while you are showing off your green thumb.

Slipped Disc, Pinched Nerve, and Back Pain

Vertebrae are separated by inter-vertebral discs which act as small shock absorbers and facilitate movement of the spine. These discs consist of a very strong fibrous sac filled with an elastic jelly and very firmly welded to the vertebrae and cannot come loose… in the case of non-specific lower back pain, why is it that, although there is great value in treatment, one needs to keep returning for the same treatment? Why, for example, does the back keep ‘going out’?

Thus problems with this nerve can be painful and uncomfortable and can affect the whole leg, hip joint and lower back.
